Priscilla Candy Shoppe
Priscilla Candy Shoppe has been making the finest, handcrafted chocolates available for over 70 years. Using only the finest ingredients and original recipes, a third generation of candy-makers hand-makes candy in Priscilla's Gardner, Massachusetts candy kitchen. Not only do they have a candy-making facility and storefront in Gardner, MA, but they also have a shop in Concord, MA as well. Owners, Jim and Maureen Gallant were looking to further develop their business and felt the opportunity of expansion into the e-commerce world would be beneficial to the growth of Priscilla Candy Shoppe.
When Priscilla’s came to us looking for a website, they already had a web presence,
but were in search of modernization in addition to the e-commerce integration.
Their website (as pictured) was clearly built according to out-dated resolution
standards causing the site to appear extremely unproportional on up to date
monitors. In addition, their former site did not have search engine optimized
content…in fact it had very little content, which would further hurt their
search engine rankings.
inConcert was able to offer them a website package with all sorts of helpful add-ons that will help their business expand. We first completed a photography session which allowed us to obtain professional quality images of real Priscilla Candy products (as well as the family and employees). These images are used throughout the website and are now available for the company to use for their marketing materials for years to come.
As our photographer was diligently working to get great images of the indescribably delicious chocolates, our graphic design team worked on digitizing their logo. Since Priscilla’s has been around for three generations, the logo files available were not up-to-date. We took their best logo file and vectorized it. This means we created a version of their logo that can be scaled as large or as small as they want and it will never lose crisp quality. This is an essential step in succeeding in their future marketing endeavors.
Finally, the website. As with every website client, we met with Priscilla’s owners to
get a feel for what types of design they liked and were looking for. From there
we created a modern design that conforms to the likes of the owners and offers
easy navigation and clear call to action graphics. Throughout the entire site
all new photos are used from their photo session and their nice crisp logo
dominantly sits in the right hand corner. We also provided professionally
written content, which focuses heavily on specified keywords chosen by the
client. This will aide in their search engine rankings. The ecommerce
section of the website is fully manageable by the client (as is the rest of the
site) so they can add, remove, and edit products as they see fit. The system
offers the ability to create product categories, offer various sizes of one
product, and a Priscilla’s customer can even specify that they need an icepack
included in the shipping box if your order is being shipped to warm climate.
Priscilla Candy Shoppe is now operating their online store and accepting orders! The transformation of their previous website to the current one is exceptional and will certainly aid in the growth of the family-owned business for generations to come.
